Because I miss my childhood damnit!

Can I freak out for just a minute?

::takes deep breath::

Okay I'm better now. Maybe. I've missed them being together. They were my first concert without parents and I had SO much fun. It was like 8th grade but I have been in love with them since 97. Yes I was there for Scott, before Travis :) haha. I do favor Travis though. Maybe because I've heard so many horror stories of Scott or maybe just because Travis is an amazing drummer, I don't know. I just heart Travis more. I wish I still talked to Brad, he was a friend from middle school/high school, but he was actually really into Blink from like 94, but then again he's a few years older then me so it makes sense.

I'm just seriously SO thrilled. I can actually look forward to this summer and Warped Tour now. I haven't gone to Warped in like 2 years because the bands have sucked but even if I only go for them this year I will go.

Oh and Zac Efron is supposed to host SNL in April. Call me a nerd but I'm stoked for that too.

Because I'm still obsessed with the host

I found my Wanda! She just needs to dye her hair blond. And I think that Kay Panabaker would look adorable as a blond. She's got a super cute innocent face that wouldn't make anyone question her motives. She is my Wanda. I don't care what anyone else says :) Haha. I'm so obsessed with this book it's not even funny.

And my real Wes. Greg Finley, I know he's not the greatest of actors but with the right director he could work. He looks exactly like I imagine Wes. Big and strong, yet kind of adorable with a baby face. He's perfect. I think at least....

because I am such a procrastinator....

I'm going to go watch my first episode of Torchwood now. I've been reading fanfics about it for about a year...I think its about time I found out what it was all about :) I'm lame. I know this.

Conversation today
Boss lady: Tell the girls 86 waffles, the waffle maker took a shit and died.
Me [to my mom]: 86 waffles, the waffle maker took a shit
Mom: What am I supposed to tell the customers?
Me [shrugs: That the toaster took a shit?

Then I laughed. Seriously, what the hell? I love my Champions family. Where else can you tell customers we have no waffles because the waffle maker took a shit and died? Loves it!

Going bowling later with the church group. Should be fun.

because the host has got me hooked..

I'm becoming obsessed with "The Host" I've finished the book now. I've just spent the last half hour or so looking at fanfic and fanart for it.

I do not see Kristen Bell as Wanda. Not at all. I don't have a Wanda in mind though...she's only "Wanda" for so little time I still only see her as Melanie. Odette Yustman is my Melanie. But only my Melanie as Melanie. Not so much my Wanda as Melanie. I don't know.
Some of the fanart makes sense to me. I could totally see Jensen Ackles as Jared Howe. So hot.
Geoff Stults could be Kyle O'Shea. I could even hate him a little. And then fall for him when he's nice to Sunny/Jodi. Which I think Christina Ricci is my Sunny/Jodi...she'd be cute and little.
Ryan Kwanten could totally be Ian O'Shea. Totally. And I could even let him keep his Australian accent ;) just kidding he'd have to lose the accent but I could totally see him being rude and then softening for Wanderer...Wanda.
Rachelle Lefevre bitch is totally my Sharon. Rachelle Lefevre might even enjoy being in another Stephenie Myer's movie too. I totally forgot she was in Twilight but I loved her from "What About Brian". I don't remember them saying Sharon had red hair exactly but Wanda describes Sharon's hair as fire. Rachelle has fire for hair.
Who to be Jeb, Doc, Maggie, Lily...and all the other people in the cave?
Okay I know SO not important but Jeremy Howard is totally my Burns Living Flowers. I know he'd only be in the movie for like 1 minute but when I was reading that part of the book I totes thought of him when I pictured Burns's face. Yeah I'm weird like that.
I think Oliver James could be my Wes. Maybe. I haven't thought of anyone else just yet.
So...I still need a Wanda. She has to be little, blond, with lots of freckles, look about 16.
Oh I almost forgot about Jaime. I need a Jaime. How could I have overlooked Jaime. I guess I could look around Disney and Nickelodeon for a 14ish year old boy with depth.
Wanda and Jaime, two of the most important characters, although you would really only see Wanda at the very end I guess.

Oh man. I'm so obsessed with this book. SO not healthy.
Ugh...I hate Donna Noble. I know that's not nice but that's just how I feel. She's so....obnoxious? Yeah.
So I got a new hard drive and now I have lots of space so I've been downloading missing episodes and movies I've wanted to see for awhile now. I have all of the new Doctor Who except for Season 2 Episode 0 and 1 and Season 3 Episode 0. Damn.

I'm going to go put the dvd's back in and watch Season 1...even though I'm not a huge fan of Christopher. Or Billie for that matter....oh well something to fall asleep to.

because its funny

A must watch if you haven't seen...even if you dislike Zac Efron, watch it! haha.

because sometimes I forget to write.

I've spent the last three or so hours writing. Makes me happy.

I got about 3,000 words down. I pretty much gave up on NaNoWriMo. I mean I was pretty sure I had given up on it about a week ago but today its official. I can't settle on writing one thing. Therefore I can't settle on finishing anything in a month. I've been writing about six different stories this month. And not to mention the awkward fanfic I finally just ended out of pure hatred for how dramatic I let it get.

46,245. That is my word count for 7 different projects. If only I could focus my energy on one project I'd be right on track to finish NaNo. Oh well. There's always next July or next November.

I guess the good thing is, is that I'm writing at all. That I'm writing creatively at all.
The Twilight movie comes out today. A lot of people are really excited about seeing Bella and Edward on the big screen. Others couldn't care less. Where do you fall on the issue?

Twilight...spoilers?Collapse )
Okay who's coming to LA for Dec's gig on December 1st? It's 21 and up...and now I have no one to go with. Damn me for my friends who are into musical theater aka stalking RENT alumni being under 21. Grow up damnit.

prop 8

1. Public Schools – Children in public schools will have to be taught that same sex marriage is jut as good as traditional marriage. The California Education Code already requires that health education classes instruct children about marriage. Therefore unless Prop 8 passes, children will be taught that marriage is between any two adults regardless of gender. There will be serious clashes between the secular school system and the rights of parents to teach their children their own values and beliefs.

Okay this isn’t true at all. California needs permission slips to even teach kids about sex education and marriage. If you don’t want your kids learning about it school don’t sign their permission slips.

2. Churches – Churches may be sued over their tax exempt status if they refuse to allow same sex marriage ceremonies in their religious buildings open to the public. Ask whether your pastor, priest, minister, bishop, or rabbi is ready to perform such marriages in your chapels and sanctuaries.

If you are gay and are planning on getting married you probably aren’t going to pick a place to get marriage that doesn’t accept you, there are plenty of churches and religious buildings that support gay marriage, I’m almost positive that people intending to get married would get married somewhere they feel welcomed and comfortable.

3. Adoption – Religious adoption agencies will be challenged by government agencies to give up their long held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and a father. Catholic Charities in Boston already closed its doors in Massachusetts because courts legalized same sex marriage there.

I love how they say their long held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and a father. Because you know children need to have a mother and father present in their life, children raised by a single parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or other relatives obviously fail at life. Children who are up for adoption need homes, as long as they are put into a family that loves them and treats them right, that’s all that should matter.

4. Private Schools – Religions that sponsor private schools with marriage student housing may be required to provide housing for same sex couples, even counter to church doctrine, or risk lawsuits over tax exemptions and related benefits.

Again why would a same sex marriage couple want to put their child into a private school that doesn’t have the same beliefs as them? I’m straight and I would never want my children in a place where they don’t value the same things as me. I’m not going to send my kids to Catholic school because I think its bullshit

5. Free Speech – Ministers who preach against same sex marriages may be sued for hate speech and risk government fines. It already happened in Canada, a country that legalized gay marriage. A California court recently held that municipal employees may not say “traditional marriage” or “family values” because since th4e legalization of same sex marriage it is “hate speech”.

It is hate speech if you are putting down gay marriage. How would people felt if I said marriage shouldn’t be legal for anyone of different races? Yeah I don’t think blacks should marry Indians, and I don’t think German people should marry Asians…its prejudice. Although honestly I don’t think ministers preaching against same sex marriage should be sued for their own right to free speech but isn’t religion supposed about this thing called tolerance and letting your higher power do the judging? Yeah I thought so. If you really believe in your religion then you know that your God will provide for you, however my God is tolerant and loves people for who they are, because He knows he made them that way.

6. Litigation – It will cost you money. This change in the definition of marriage will bring a cascade of lawsuits. For example, some cases already lost: photographers cannot now refuse to photograph gay marriages; doctors cannot now refuse to perform artificial insemination of gays even given other willing doctors. Even it courts eventually find in favor of a defender of traditional marriage [highly improbable given today’s activist judges] think of the money-your money- that will be spent on such legal battles.

This goes along with why would someone higher someone who doesn’t feel comfortable taking their picture? When there are plenty of people who have no problem with it. Why would a doctor refuse artificial insemination on someone? Its shouldn’t be their choice whether or not the person wants to have a baby. I’m more then happy for my tax dollars to go to fights for same sex marriage, thanks.

And think of all the unintended consequences that we cannot forsee, at this time. Where will it end? Its about your children, your grandchildren, your money and your civil liberties.

Like what? Tolerance? Happy families? If it’s really about my children and grandchildren then sign me up for “No on 8” because I believe everyone is equal.

I just got a mailer in the mail saying why I should vote Yes on 8. All the reasons completely bewilder me. They are so ridiculous and actually make me laugh that its their argument. If you are trying to convince me to vote Yes, which you won’t, but if you are trying to convince me, tell me your opinions but be wise enough that I also have opinions that might differ from you. My best friend and I don’t agree on Prop 8 but that doesn’t mean I stop loving him and not talking to him and him the same. We understand each others opinions but that’s because we have tolerance, and although he’s for Yes because he thinks marriage is sacred between man and a women [because you know all people who get married are religious…right…] he still has tolerance that not everyone agrees with him. He’s not trying to preach to me or other people to get them to vote Yes, I think this is one of the biggest things California has yet to face in long time and I guess after next Tuesday we’ll know…judgment day is just around the corner.
